We would like to welcome you to our farm, a traditional Buckinghamshire brick and flint, period farmhouse with a beautiful timbered barn which has been transformed into luxury self catering accommodation. The Barn has been tastefully converted, retaining all the original features whilst providing all modern conveniences. Lower Bassibones Farm is situated in the beautiful Chiltern Hills in an area officially classified as being of “Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are located in the heart of The Chilterns in Buckinghamshire, two miles from Great Missenden. three miles from Amersham and Chesham. High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Watford are within a 15 - 30 minute drive. The farm is surrounded by rolling countryside and farmland despite being only 45 minutes from London by train or road and a similar distance from the city of Oxford. London Heathrow and Luton airports are less than an hour away by road. The area is served by several nearby motorways: M25, M4, M40 and Ml.
Lee Common is within easy reach of a variety of attractive pubs, inns and restaurants which serve excellent meals. We’d be pleased to advise you and give you a list of recommended establishments. There are many places of interest and National Trust properties in and around The Chilterns area, there are also many beautiful walks, not least the The Ridgeway and the Icknield Way.
The Self Catering accommodation is offered all the year round (except at Christmas). The accommodation comprises an open plan, very spacious living area, an office area with the usual facilities, one double and one twin bedroom, a bath/shower room and a fully fitted and equipped kitchen. The Barn is completely self-contained and has its own private drive and parking area, large garden and patio for sun bathing and a barbecuing area. Garden furniture and barbecue are provided, also a weekly gardening service is included in the weekly rate. The Barn has underfloor central heating. All linen and towels are supplied. There are ample parking facilities, also storage areas for bicycles and a drying area for outdoor clothing etc.
Additional Bed & Breakfast accommodation is available in the main farmhouse.
